End of term thoughts

Time sure flies when we are constantly overwhelmed by work and responsibilities. Tutorials, essays, tests, CCAs, competitions, NAPFA, SPA, it was madness! Thank goodness the we can finally get the small respite we deserve, otherwise I'm sure some of us will go crazy. (Some already show warning signs, if you know what I mean.)

Well, it is finally the June holidays! Hooray! Of course, the month will surely be spent mugging at home instead of in school, we still have to go back to schools for make-up tutorials and lectures, we got a pile of holiday homework to do, and the mid-year common tests are looming ahead...... But hey, at least we still have the excuse to waste the first weekend away, right?

Come to think of it, this may be the last real school holidays we will ever have. Sure, there is that time after the 'A' levels. But personally I don't think that really counts as a 'school' holidays anymore, since the end of 'A' levels effectively spelled the end of our formal schooling under the MOE. Yup, time DO fly very quickly. Makes you feel all nostalgic and old, doesn't it?

Still, forget all studies for now! Break out your gaming consoles! Stretch those gaming fingers! There is no better time for guys to stone in front of a screen playing games! As for ladies, call your friends and take out your savings! The Singapore Great Sale is here! Go shop! Everyone, let us all just waste ourselves for at least a while!

On a side note, there is another, equally important thing to bring up.

Today, we bade farewell to our GP tutor, Ms Mithina Tan. She has been a good teacher to us, holding out with all her patience even when we made life extremely difficult to her. You know what I mean, not handing in homework and this sort of thing. I do not know what everyone in class really think of her, and I am not naive to think that everyone think the same way I do. But I believe that all of us respect her, and are going to miss her now that she is going to retire from teaching. We owe her much thanks for everything she has done.

Also, as a GP rep, I want to thank you guys for being (mostly) cooperative, and always supportive. I know there were times when I had been rather difficult, and times when I screwed up things really badly. I also know I am not very good at making announcements, and that I tend not to think rationally when things went wrong. Still, you guys still keep faith in me. So, I thank you all for being supportive throughout all this time. No hard feeling man, so don't worry. ;-)

Enough chat, let us slack!

Track and Field

Yo, this is Chun Hong speaking right here on this blog. I hope nobody mind that I put myself on the users list. This way, I can post right from my own Google account, which is much more convenient than trying to memorize another set of username and password, although they are already openly exposed to the Internet anyway.

So, track and field had come and gone. The climax of the entire battle-between-the-houses hoopla has finally ended. For most of us, it was all about the running, the jumping, the senseless screaming, the cheerleaders...... mostly about the cheerleaders actually. :-)

Anyway, other than the cheerleaders, and the fact that we helped out in the event, there wasn't anything particularly memorable of the Track and Field. Except maybe if you count the mad crowd of students who swarmed the Milo truck like rioters attacking a hapless vehicle, as if they were ready to topple the entire truck. That was the most extreme yet. But otherwise, everything else went smoothly.

So good job everyone for helping out in the Track and Field! Everyone's contribution counted! Let us pat ourselves on the back! *pat* *pat*
